Bar 1863 |
The bar's decoration is based on different atmospheres of light and colour and is located by the restaurant. allowing access to the "Verona" side-walk café. It is named "1863" after the ashlars, kept on one of the walls. These stones were once part of the grand Wine and Cereal Warehouse built in the area, in 1863, by Francisco Alexandrino da Costa Lira, an important businessman at the time.
As you walk out of the bar, you'll find the "Verona" side-walk café, as well as a garden and a playground. Once more, the Moniz Sol Hotel used sea themes to name this place. "Verona" is the name of a yacht which sunk nearby this town - against the Achadas rock -, in 1947.
