§ On our Buffet table youwill find that all products such as honey, jam, butter, yoghurts, muesli etc.is presented without wrappings. We purchase these products in large quantities or when possible we produce themourselves.
§ We utilise products inrecyclable containers (such as the shampoo in your room etc.) § As far as it istechnically possible, we use recyclable paper. § We re-use our used officepapers for note pads, internal lists etc. § The used containers fromour purchased vegetables, cheeses and salads are kept and then returned to theproducers for re-usage. § Linen no longer fit foruse in our rooms or restaurants are torn up and used as rags for polishing. § According to the hygieneregulations, left over food from our restaurants is delivered on a daily basisto the local farmers for use as pig food. § Pens are refilled and notbought new and printing cartridges are recycled. § We separate our waste intopaper, bottles, metal, clothing, pig food, plastic, etc. § Our Hotel has a GarbageCompressing Machine which compresses all materials mentioned above and in sodoing, contributes to a better waste management. ENERGY AND WATER MANAGEMENT § Room key system: whenleaving your room, the electricity in your room (with exception of the minibar) is automatically turned off. While sleeping, you have the opportunity to turn off the electricity. § We use only energy savinglight bulbs. § In all the areas of ourhotel where we utilise heavy equipment for the generation of hot water,hot/cold air, laundry etc. we recycle the energy used so as to achieve maximumoutput. § All pipes are properlyisolated to keep the energy and heat generated. § As far as it is possible,we only operate with equipment using a minimum of energy. § We have a check list thatwe use on a daily/weekly basis to verify that all the technical standards arekept. § During the summer monthswe reduce the temperature of the warm water, however always keeping within thelimits of the hygienic standards. § During the summer months,the water in the indoor pool is reduced to 26 – 27 degrees Celsius. § The sauna is only turnedon at 16:00 in the afternoon. § Computers, coffee machinesand ovens not in use are turned off. § Lighting is regulatedaccording to the need. Wherepossible we use sensors to regulate the need for lighting. § Our drying machines andironing machines are all gas operated due to the environmental and economicaladvantages it offers. FRESH WATER § We are in the luckysituation that we can use the local fresh water as our drinking water. § In the bedrooms you willfind separate blue pool towels for your convenience. This is to encouragelaundry reduction. § We kindly ask our gueststo be considerate with the laundry usage, You will find further information inyour room. § Our laundry works withdigital dosage suggestions and set programs to take maximum advantage of thewashing machines, to take the best care of the laundry, to extend the lifetimeof the laundry and to minimise the amount of products used in the water. § Our laundry andhousekeeping department only uses biodegradable products. WASTE WATER MANAGEMENT § Our Hotel has it’s ownWaste Water Treatment Plant for the treatment of the waste water to avoidpoluting the sea. AIR § Non-smoking areas areavailable in all our restaurants and also in certain of our public areas aswell as in our offices. § We have non-smoking roomsavailable. § We only use anair-conditioning/heating system that does not produce harmful chemicals (FCKW)to be released into the environment. |
