CHECK-IN TIME
Check-in time is after 02:00 p.m. Early check-in is at the discretion of the hotel and is based on the availability of your room. Call the operator to make your request, or ask the Front Desk staff when you arrive.

 

CHECK-OUT TIME
If the hotel is fully booked it is unlikely that the hotel will offer you the late check-out option. Please request the hotel reception to keep your luggage until your departure (after having checked out before 12:00 noon). If you really need the room, the final option is to pay for an entire additional night.

The atmosphere is rustic and cosy.

Your key card provides access to your room and public areas. Please do not forget to take your key card with you when you leave your room. If you lose your key, please notify our hotel reception staff immediately so we can block your lost key.

You will find a laundry bag inside your closet. Please be aware that this bag is intended for laundry service only. Should you require laundry or dry cleaning service, please fill out the respective laundry form, and put it together with the clothes in the Laundry bag, so that our Housekeeping can collect it.

​This private bay, protected by the cliffs, offers a salt water pool, multiple accesses to the sea by stairs and solarium areas. It features changing rooms, sanitary facilities, lifeguard, sunbeds, snack bar, restaurant and a diving centre. Here you can dive directly from the complex into the underwater nature reserve of Garajau. Water activities available: Snorkelling gear rental and tours; kayak rental; diving courses and tours, water inflatable (Summer only).  

Lido Galomar Glamping Hut Experience 

This romantic eco-hut rental is the epitome of luxury.

Guests will enjoy access to a mobile phone during their stay, as well as provided towels and a lantern to illuminate the hut at night. 
For privacy concerns, guests are advised that this property's sea platform is available to all guests, which is in front of the glamping hut. The sea platform is open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Summer season (May – October) exclusive

"Schneider" system - Allows control and monitoring of room and hotel devices. Energy management GTC (centralized technical management) - Efficient system of energy management and rationalization of the building (monitoring of consumption by the client - motivation for saving);

RECYCLED AND RECYCABLE MATERIALS

Resysta - Furniture and coatings in "rice hull" - It is an extremely durable recycled material, resistant to sun, rain, ice and even salt water. It consists of 60% rice husk, 22% common salt and 18% mineral oil and maintains
the visual appearance of the wood. Compared to wood, it requires minimal maintenance and is highly resistant to pests, mold and cracks.

Reuse of the old Galo Restaurant ceiling. Wicker piece (local handicraft) that will be used in the reception decoration of the new hotel.

K-life - A compact mineral that uses a process of photo catalysis that makes it an antibacterial stain resistant piece. This process actively improves air quality, based on self-cleaning and promoting air regeneration, eliminating the use of chemicals.

Housekeeping uniforms – TENCEL. Tencel is a naturally occurring synthetic fibre made from cellulose (wood). DRUGS, ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES AND WEAPONS

Possession (or being under the influence) of illegal substances, drugs and weapons on the hotel premises will lead to immediate eviction. In such cases, the payment obligation for the agreed term of your stay will still apply.  The Hotel will notify the responsible authorities.

SECURITY

Our staff is available 24 hours per day. Our premises are monitored by CCTV. Please contact our staff immediately if you notice any dangerous or suspicious situations.

Evacuation

An alarm will go off in the case of an emergency. When the alarm sounds, we urge you to leave the hotel immediately via one of the emergency exits. The emergency exits are clearly marked by the green ‘EXIT’ signs and can be opened easily with a push bar. Please note that the lifts are not in use during an emergency situation – you will have to use the emergency stairs. The evacuation plan and a summary of our house rules can be found on the inside of your room door.

Emergency exits

Only use Emergency exit doors in case of emergency. All emergency exit doors are monitored by CCTV and alarm systems.

Fire Alarm System

The smoke detectors/fire alarm systems are in place for the safety of everybody. Please note that the alarm will be triggered if the smoke detectors are disturbed. Anybody who manipulates the smoke detectors/ fire alarm systems in any way is violating the law and will be instructed to leave the hotel immediately. According to our Terms & Conditions, no money will be refunded when our guests are instructed to leave because of breaking the Hotel Rules. Additional costs will be charged (a.o. damage, fine by the fire department) and you might be prosecuted by law. Please understand that we need to be very strict on this.

Hotel safety

The following information is provided for your safety in the event of a fire. Please take a moment to get familiar with the locations of the fire extinguishers and the fire escape plans upon arrival at the hotel. Floor plans are located in the corridors near every emergency exit and on each room door. For your safety, the hotel is equipped with fire/smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and fire hoses. Their locations are indicated on the evacuation floor plans in your room and in the corridors. Our staff is trained to handle emergency situations. In the case of an emergency situation please always follow their instructions. Our staff is available on-site 24 hours per day and our premises are monitored by CCTV. If you detect smoke

Alarm the reception during opening hours and/ or call 112

Attempt to contain and extinguish the fire yourself if possible with the nearest fire extinguisher

Leave the building via the stairs and emergency exits and meet at the parking

Violence

Any violence to our guests or staff will lead to your immediate eviction from the hotel and the police will be informed.

Galo Resort Hotels has the following free of charge parking facilities: at the main entrance of Hotel Galosol; At the garage and in front of the adjacent building of Hotel Galosol and Galomar.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The main bus stop in Caniço de Baixo is located in the parallel road, at about 3 minutes walking distance (150m). Timetables for the busses to Caniço and Funchal are available at the Reception and in your Galo Resort Hotel-Card. Bus tickets are directly purchased with the bus driver.

The easiest way to get to the hotel is by way of public transport. From FUNCHAL, take bus 155. Galo Resort is just down the crossroad.
